SEXTANS...
Sextans was built as a prototype motor as one of eight all steel narrowboats of all steel construction with rounded chines and vee bottoms by W. J. Yarwood and Sons and is known as a 'Middle Northwich' motor.
Due to the shape of these craft they were unpopular with boatmen so she was shortened to 40ft along with three other motors in 1942 and converted to an icebreaker. Brinklow lengthened Sextans to 55ft by using traditional methods and have now fitted a conversion.
