ELECTRA...
Electra is a type 3 Bantock boat built by Thomas Bantock and Sons, she was originally used as a BCN 'joey' or 'day boat' carrying coal over short distances and towed by tugs, in recent years she was owned by the Black Country Living Museum.
Electra came to Brinklow Boat Services to be restored, the steel work was undertaken by Simon Wain and David Ross which included the original 50ft section being re-footed and re-bottomed, the stern which was built elsewhere was attached to the bow half by hot riveting.
Wood work was then undertaken by Rex Wain and Chris [Ding] which included new gunnel's, new running gear and fitting of the side and top cloths. David Gunby and Steve Priest have completed the engine installation.
